Only two weeks till WWDC

I can remember the first WWDC I went to. It was the first one at the Fairmont in San Jose. Overhead projectors and transparencies. Archaic.
I think I've missed one since. Both when I was working on NeXT stuff.
But when you are part of Apple (in my sixth year now), it's an entirely different experience. It lasts pretty much from January on for our particular department, getting our deliverables ready. Then the last three weeks are utter hell.
And then it starts, and the stress mostly melts away (aside from the fear that I may be asked on stage for a Developer Publications Q&A.
WWDC is hard for me because of my OCD. I don't do well in crowds. I'm embarrassed having to say to everyone I meet "Sorry, I don't shake hands". I'm awkward around people I don't know. I don't travel well. Blah, blah, blah.
But I'd still not miss it for the world.
